Full course description
We spend countless hours devising curricula to help our students and residents learn the right material to take appropriate care of patients. Faculty invest significant time and energy in creating lectures, participating in small group sessions, and teaching at the bedside. We want our learners to be the best they can be. To do this, we need to be able to provide useful feedback using evidence-based principles.
Participants who complete this module will be able to:
- Discuss the importance of feedback in improving learner performance.
- Differentiate between directive, facilitative, specific, verifying and elaborative types of feedback.
- Describe evidence for at least two general principles for effective feedback in medical education.
