About This Course:

This online self-study course presents a fundamental understanding of clinical research, investigational product development, clinical research protocols and ethical approvals of clinical research studies.

This course is made possible through the OSU Center for Clinical Translational Science.

Target Audience:

Clinical research professionals, junior faculty conducting clinical research.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define clinical research and types of clinical research studies.
  • Define the approval process for investigational products.
  • Understand the components of a clinical trial protocol.
  • Identify institutional ethical approval process for clinical research studies.
